Hi, I’m Aditi

A Photographer in Pune

Hi, I am Aditi Chitale, Food and Product photographer based out of Pune MH, India. It would perhaps be more appropriate to say that I stumbled upon photography somewhere around April of 2017. As a typical enthusiast, I relished clicking anything and everything in my sight, as I worked on familiarizing myself with the nuances of photography and to get a feel for my camera.

Wildlife and Landscape were my initial genres of interest. I slowly moved into the realms of street, macro and sometimes abstract. It took me some time to find my real niche and joy though; that is Food Photography. Well, almost as much as I love food itself! I had the opportunity to do a few paid gigs for a couple of Chefs and a restaurant, but I was still unsure about how to make a real entry into this market – and I was filled with trepidation on how to go about it! Instagram was one such platform where I found that I could demonstrate my skills. It did, however, took me a while to get some expertise in it and understand its algorithm.

The first lockdown of 2020 truly intensified my urge to do something worthwhile in the field. I thought the best way to start was right from the beginning itself. So, I once again found myself starting off with the basics… the lights, the moods, the composition… everything felt like an exciting new learning experience. This time around, Instagram and YouTube came to my rescue and gave me the right boost.

I followed some amazing food and product photographers and amassed spectacular learnings from their images and their YouTube videos. I do not have any formal training as such in Photography and I suppose I can call myself a self-tutored Food and Product photographer. I specialize in clicking images for Catalogues, Restaurant Menus, Websites, wonderfully skilled Chefs, Cloud Kitchens and even social media.

The scope of photography is simply vast. You can click an image or shoot a video of practically everything. I aim to make my place in the market with Food Photography and then, who knows what other avenues will open up for me… I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to Mr. Sridhar Deshpande and Mr. Sunil Gugule for their constant guidance and support. And to my family who have encouraged, tolerated, and supported me during all the ups and downs.
